ÓMAR R. VALDIMARSSON

Ómar R. Valdimarsson is a lawyer with a diverse background in the international media and business world, spanning two decades. He completed his B.Sc. in both Print Journalism and Broadcast Journalism from Suffolk University/Emerson College in Boston, USA, in 2002 and worked alongside his studies at DV and then Fréttablaðið. After completing his studies, he subsequently founded Íslensk almannatengsl ehf., which provided public relations consulting for both domestic and international companies. Ómar was the only reporter for Bloomberg News in Iceland from 2009-2017.

In 2005, Ómar completed an MA in International Relations and History from the London School of Economics, while working. Following the economic collapse, he returned to study and graduated from Reykjavík University in 2013, with both a BA and ML in law. In 2015, Ómar was admitted to the District Court.

He then received the right to present cases before the National Court of Iceland in 2021 and the Supreme Court of Iceland in 2024.
